Three former colleagues approached me to help launch a new business. After the Summer of 2020 they decided to put together a program to help people build the capabilities, community, and confidence needed to succeed and pave their path to career independence.
Each of them excel in their individual fields but were in need of support around the naming and branding of the business. I was hired to shepherd this process.
The Ask
Design a brand – including a company name – then build a website to engage individuals, as well as corporate HR-partners, around skill-developing opportunities to successfully transition from corporate jobs to becoming independent consultants.
The Process
SWOT analysis and in-depth discussions about the business objectives took place over several weeks. Once brand values and personality were agreed upon, naming and concepting began with the aid of a copywriter. Rooting the design concepts in the company values were key to group approval and sign off.
The Results
Landing on a name for the business proved to be the most challenging step in the process. But once it was legally in the clear, Ortira Career Network was established. Letterhead, promotional materials, and a website soon followed.
After a site maintenance overview, the keys to the brand and the website were handed over to the client.
